POLITICS SHOULD BE SECOND BEHIND PROTECTING COUNTRY AND PRESERVING FREEDOMS

The challenges are great and the timing is now. Through voter complacency and apathy, we the citizens of these United States have allowed our country to veer off course to the point that our very system of government is now threatened.

Using Czars, agencies and activist judges that can operate outside and around Congress, our Federal government can now make policy affecting all people without any input from "we the people".

As a senior, over age 60, it would be easy for me to look the other way and hope that other more younger citizens would “carry the ball” to reverse this trend. After all, I have my own economic challenges and distractions that need to come first. Let somebody else fight for what is right. Let somebody else fight my battle for me, especially now that I am over sixty years old. BALONEY! I cannot do that! Watching my country disintegrate before my eyes is not an option. I need to do something or else I will have no one to blame when things for ALL of us seniors get much, much worse.

There are two ways I can help. Speak out and talk to people is number one. Voting in the next election is number two. I have never failed to vote in any election. Even when serving overseas in a combat zone, I still turned in my absentee ballot. Some of you reading this may have missed an election or two in the past but there is no excuse to do so in the future. We are in this mess because we have allowed others to do our thinking and talking.

In November 2010, we have a chance to stop National Socialism from taking over everything in our country. Government takeovers of the auto industry, banking industry, insurance industry and others is not in the best interest of Americans who believe in the American dream.

Small business is being crushed under the ever growing burden of government taxation and over regulation. Local, city, state and federal taxing authorities have no conscience when adding new taxes to a small business owner's burdens. Over 80% of America's jobs come from small business so the result of these "dark age" policies will have severe negative consequences for everyone young and old. We are being turned into a nation full of “serfs” and “serfdoms”.

As a individual senior, it may be more difficult to find money earning opportunities that can keep up with the growing expenses chipping away at our savings and investments. Standing alone we feel "what can I do?" "I am not young anymore!" My answer is that we can do plenty. There are almost 60 million seniors already near or over age sixty, plus there are another 40 million people right behind us. This is a powerful force with great experience, education and a choice to act or to watch.

I choose to act by staying in the work force and by pressing forward with the point that we can make a huge difference with our vote and by talking to people about why our country and system are worth fighting to preserve.

You have a choice too!

Don’t let yourself be a willing victim.
